Sundog energy has been providing renewable energy systems for over 10 years. In that time we have installed hundreds of systems, across the whole of the UK. These systems, totaling over 1 megawatt, have been installed on houses, schools, churches, offices, village halls, libraries, museums and many other sites. Sundog energy’s clients have included councils, housing associations, developers, charities and homeowners - utilising many different technologies, products and mounting techniques. The following are examples of some of these installations:

New Progress Housing Association, Leyland

Sundog energy provided roof integrated, Redland PV tile systems to 22 properties. These were installed during the re-roofing phase of a major renovation scheme being implemented by New Progress Housing Association. Technology: Redland PV800 PV tiles.  System size: 24.6kWp.

Harrowside Solarium

The Solarium is a 1938 Art Deco style building on Blackpool Seafront.  As part of a major renovation of the building, Sundog Energy provided a bespoke glass-glass PV array to the main roof and corridors.  This was augmented by two wind turbines installed either side of the main entrance.  Technology: bespoke PV glazing units and Proven 6kW turbines.  System size: 27kWp

London transport museum  

Situated in Covent Garden, the grade II listed building is a former Victorian Flower Market.  This scheme involved the installation of PV systems to the Museum’s roof as part of a major redevelopment project. The Museum’s PV system was the first in a series of flagship schemes supported by the London Climate Change Agency. Technology: Redland PV800 PV tiles and BP Solar modules.  System size: 51.5kWp.

Moldgreen School, Huddersfield.

PV tile systems were specified into the south facing roof of Moldgreen School – a new-build school, housing 380 pupils and 50 staff.  The PV system incorporated Redland PV tiles installed by Sundog energy.  Funding for 50% of the project cost was received from the UK Government's Major Demonstration Programme.  Technology: Redland PV80 PV tiles.  System size: 15.36kWp

As well as working with clients such as developers, councils and housing associations, Sundog energy provides many domestic installations each year.  The above shows examples of typical installations.

Blackpool promenade wind installation

These two turbines form the first part of a scheme to provide renewable power to help run the Blackpool illuminations. They are situated on the promenade, right on the Blackpool seafront.  Technology:  Proven 15kW wind turbines.  System size: 30kW.

Keswick School

The Crosthwaite Centre, is a conference centre, part of Keswick school.  This PV system is integrated into the local slate roof.  Technology:  Redland PV80 PV tiles.  System size: 3.36kWp

Church of the Annunciation, Walsingham

The PV system for this new-build Roman Catholic church was grant funded under the UK Government's Major Demonstration Programme.  The church is situated in the Norfolk pilgrimage village of Walsingham.   Technology:  Redland PV80 PV tile.  System size: 10.56kWp

The Quadrant Business Centre, Sheffield

This new build project was designed from the start to incorporate PV.  The building roof was specified to include a series of North Lights with PV arrays to the southern slopes.  Each independent sub array utilised “standard” framed modules mounted to a bespoke framework.  Technology: BP Solar BP7175 modules.  System size: 25.9kWp

Leicester Six Streets project

Sundog energy provided roof integrated Redland PV tile systems to 50 properties.  These were installed as part of a major regeneration scheme on the Braunstone Estate, being implemented by Leicester Housing Association.  Technology:  Redland PV800 PV tiles.  System size: 52.5kWp.
